Turbine Generators Overview

Turbine generators are simply a turbine working with a generator to produce power. A turbine is any machine with angled blades attached to a shaft that spins when a force is applied across it. A generator is a machine that converts simple mechanical energy into the electricity that we use everyday!

There are four types of turbine generators:

Gas Turbines
Steam Turbines
Air/Wind Turbines
Water Turbines

These turbines can turn heat, wind, moving water, water pressure, water vapor, chemical energy and other natural forces into simple mechanical energy by forcing the turbine to spin as the force is applied through the turbine.

Turbines are expected to become much more of a household name with the recent pushes for sustainable energy and high energy prices. Windmills are simply wind turbines, and will become more prevalent in American households in the near future.
